“Speaking In Tongues” Event A Success

We were pleased to start the new year with DMIS’ inaugural Distinguished Speaker Series — special events designed to showcase our school and reinforce the benefits of a full-immersion, bilingual education. Numerous studies show that children who acquire more than one language at an early age academically outperform their monolingual peers. Our first event was hosted by Greg Moore, editor of The Denver Post. Mr. Moore, one of the nation’s most respected journalists, has two children enrolled at DMIS. He introduced a screening of the documentary, “Speaking in Tongues,” which chronicles the full-immersion education of four children in the San Francisco Bay Area.
