Jacques-Olivier Grall Johansson “J.O.”

Physical Education

J.O. is a native of Paris, France, and has taught at Denver International School for nearly a decade. He has a daughter who lives in France, and he enjoys visiting her. J.O. loves the mountains and snow skiing.


Risa “Ms. Mac” Machovec

Art

Risa Machovec earned a bachelor’s degree in art at the University of Wisconsin-Stout. After teaching at Montclair Academy for nearly a decade, she implemented a strong art program at Denver Montclair International School. Ms. Mac believes all children are artists, and she enjoys teaching every DMIS student. She and her husband have two children who graduated from Montclair Academy.


Kristin West

Music

Kristin originally hails from Fairport, New York. She received bachelor’s degrees in Childhood Education and Music Education from SUNY Potsdam, and a master’s degree in Educational Psychology and Instructional Technology from the University of Southern California. During the last four years in Denver, Kristin has taught a multi-age 2nd and 3rd grade class, a private preschool class and pre-K through 5th grade general music. Kristin recently performed a one-musician musical (entitled BUBS) at the Fringe Festival in New York. On the weekends, she maintains a private studio for piano, clarinet, saxophone and voice. In her rare moments of free time, Kristin loves to read, swim competitively, dance and make music.
