Yun Doyle

Yun Doyle has a bachelor’s degree in education from Huazhong Normal University and was selected by the Chinese Language Council, Hanban, to participate in the Confucius Institute’s teaching program. Before coming to DMIS, Yun was a teacher’s assistant in the Adams School District and has been teaching Mandarin Chinese through the Great Wall Chinese Academy and Confucius Classroom. In China, Yun taught for Wuhan Horticulture College and also worked as the Youth Secretary for Wuhan Central Government. She has worked for international companies in Beijing and Shanghai where she developed management training strategies and delivered training programs. She holds a master’s degree in business administration from Napier University in Scotland, where she also completed computer and English communication courses from Delter International Business Institute of Montreal. In her free time, Yun has received numerous awards for public speaking and has even been a radio hostess. She is a semi-professional photojournalist who has published articles with the China Travelers and the Chinese World magazine.


Huizhu Hu

Huizhu is from Shanghai, China. She holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Shanghai University. She was a master’s candidate of computer sciences at University of Colorado at Denver for two years. She also completed with honors a training program for teachers of Chinese as a foreign language at Shanghai Fudan University in China sponsored by the Chinese National Office for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, also known as Hanban. She is currently taking two important courses for early childhood education. Huizhu has been teaching at DMIS for over six years. She is an experienced and caring teacher, receiving the Distinguished Service Award in 2008. During her teaching career at DMIS, her hard work and responsive teaching style has always been well received by her students, parents and fellow teachers.


Jia Jia

Jia obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Chinese language and literature from Hunan Normal University in China. She was a contributing author of a textbook on Chinese literature that was published in 2006, and three of her capstone-level papers were published in academic journals. Jia has the highest level of certification for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (TCFL) issued by Hanban, the Chinese Language Council. Before arriving Denver, Jia worked as a college instructor at Hunan First Normal College and as a Chinese teacher at Shanghai High School International Division.


Sherry Lam

Sherry was born in Taiwan. She has a bachelor’s degree in education and majored in early childhood education. Sherry also has an extensive background in language education. She worked as a kindergarten teacher in Taiwan before joining DMIS.


Su Li

Su is originally from China and holds a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction in a Foreign Language from George Mason University. She received her Virginia State License in teaching Chinese for pre-Kindergarten and has taught Chinese at a Chinese language institution for the last four years. Su believes in integrating culture into the curriculum and emphasizes learning languages within the appropriate cultural context, and always having respect for different cultures. She enjoys incorporating technology into the classroom as much as possible.


I-Chi Wang

I-Chi Wang received a bachelor’s degree in Chinese literature at National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan. Before coming to DMIS, I-Chi taught junior high students in Taiwan for nearly a decade, and taught Chinese language at the Chinese Sunday School in Denver for 8 years. This is her third year teaching at DMIS.
