Fine Arts & Athletics
Denver Montclair International School believes strongly that a well-rounded academic curriculum includes instruction in art, music and physical fitness. These highly interactive courses – offered to all DMIS students — promote language learning and an appreciation for world culture.
Art
Students are encouraged to express themselves and hone their artistic skills by experimenting with color, style and different media. They are introduced to classic and contemporary artists inside and outside the classroom: field trips to local art exhibits are always a student favorite. In addition to a designated, weekly art period, most DMIS teachers regularly incorporate art projects into their lesson plans.
Music
Our students connect with the world – and each other — through music. Weekly classes and field trips to local performances introduce musical styles, instruments and classic and contemporary composers from all over the globe. Students learn favorite children’s songs from other countries and stage concerts and performances throughout the school year.
Physical Education
Teamwork! That’s an important DMIS value that is underscored by our weekly physical education classes and daily recesses. Students learn to play sports and games enjoyed by children worldwide. Our goal is to promote a healthy, lifelong love for exercise and physical fitness.
