Middle School Mountain Retreat

DMIS’ inaugural 6th grade class headed west to the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center for a four-day retreat at the beginning of the school year. After a busy summer, Denver Montclair International School is ready for the 2011-12 academic year which starts Fri., Aug. 26. As the Rocky Mountain region’s oldest international school, DMIS was profiled on Denver’s Channel 9 News in the back-to-school series highlighting language-immersion programs. DMIS was the only private, independent school highlighted in this particular series. The Elements Art and Music Show

To conclude Science Week, the DMIS Art and Music departments proudly present ”The Elements” — a collaborative Art and Music Show on Fri., May 20. DMIS Supports Shaka Franklin Foundation

DMIS is proud to support the Shaka Franklin Foundation for Youth for the sixth year in a row. This non-profit organization was founded in 1990 and works to prevent teen suicide and destructive behavior.  DMIS donated several weeks of Summer Camp to the silent auction held at the Annual Luncheon to benefit the Shaka Franklin Foundation. DMIS Supports Half the Sky Foundation

DMIS proudly supports Half the Sky Foundation, which works to provide nurturing care for China’s orphaned children. DMIS parents, teachers and staff will be attending the Inaugural Denver Community Celebration held at 6:30 p.m. on Thurs., May 12 at the Four Seasons Hotel located in downtown Denver. Spring Spin

The 2nd Annual DMIS Daughter Dance  will take place on Sun., May 15 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the DMIS gymnasium. Tickets are $35.00 for each girl and an adult dance partner (father, grandfather, uncle, family friend, mother and/or aunt, etc). Purchase tickets online here by May 11.

Spanish 4th and 5th Graders Travel to Spain

DMIS’ Spanish 4th and 5th graders will study abroad in Paracuelles, Spain from May 2 – 17. The monolingual 5th grade class at DMIS will travel to the nation’s capital for one week to conclude their American History studies. DMIS Celebrates Spanish Culture

The Spanish Program at DMIS is celebrating Spanish Culture Week April 22 – 28. The celebration began with Dia del Libro — an international celebration of books and reading.
