English 5th Graders Travel to Washington, D.C.
The monolingual 5th grade class at DMIS will travel to the nation’s capital for one week to conclude their American History studies. This educational trip includes a tour of the Capitol and the Pentagon, the Library of Congress, the National Archives, the National Gallery of Art, the International Spy Museum, the National Air and Space Museum, the Newseum, a bike tour of all the national monuments and a boat ride across the Potomac to visit Mount Vernon. We wish them safe travels and an exciting class adventure! They will be in Washington, D.C. the same week the Spanish 4th and 5th graders are in Paracuelles, Spain. Look for their Travel Diary on the Student Travel page.
When Denver International School merged with Montclair Academy in 2009 creating Denver Montclair International School, two monolingual (English-only) classes were formed to accommodate the students from Montclair Academy. This 5th grade class will be the first of the monolingual classes to graduate from DMIS.
